At the heart of Lovelight's financial operations is a dynamic leader from the Sunshine Coast - Jade Murfett who over the last five years, has seen the finance team grow from a solo endeavour to a robust team of five. Having moved to Melbourne 11 years ago, Jade has not only embraced the city but also the challenges and rewards of her role as Head of Finance at Lovelight.

Before joining the Lovelight family, Jade’s journey spanned nine years in public accounting, a blend of experiences in small practice and mid-tier firms. This rich background set the stage for her transition to Lovelight, where she's been instrumental in shaping the financial landscape of the company. 

A typical day in her world begins with an all-company stand-up meeting, a ritual that began in lockdown and continues to foster unity and alignment across all divisions. This is followed by a focused finance team meeting to discuss the day's priorities, review challenges, and strategise solutions. Jade told us however that the most constant element of her role at Lovelight is change; each day brings a new set of tasks, from supporting team members and refining processes to engaging with various departments. One of her significant recent focuses has been implementing a new accounting system, a task that has been both challenging and rewarding. The transition became more extensive and time-consuming than initially anticipated, “it has been a journey of learning and adaptation, pushing us to new heights of problem-solving and strategic thinking.” 

The best part of her role? The diversity each day brings. Working at Lovelight isn't just about numbers and spreadsheets; it's about being part of a dynamic and engaging team and facing new challenges that foster professional growth and personal satisfaction.
