Metricon Project
For the past eight years, Lovelight has worked side-by-side with Metricon Homes to create a unique offering for Australia's largest builder.
This month we feature one of Metricon Victoria's display homes, Wollert, that has been styled with furnishings to entice their new home buyers by showing off the light potential of the home. The overall feel of the Wollert display is contemporary and refined and nothing of what you would expect from a 'volume builder'.
'Our homes are designed so that when you walk into a Metricon home, you can’t help but be impressed by the sleek modern design and wide-open, light-filled spaces.'
The lead designer, Kristina from the Studio M at Metricon, chose a neutral colour palette to soften the overall look of the home as well as appeal to the broader market.
"The window furnishings in this home have been carefully selected with an organic, textural look in mind. Sheer linen fabrics in mid greys and whites add a relaxed softness to the room, whilst filtering light in a subtle way. Allowing the spaces to still appear bright and airy, with a touch of formality and privacy."
Kristina chose gorgeous sheer S-fold curtains in Wortley Fabric's Aria collection for both the living and bedroom which soften the masculine furniture pieces in these spaces. Decorative black curtain rods modernise a more traditional style of window furnishing.
For the second bedroom, Kristina chose a simple Quatz (white) roller blind from TWC's Dakota collection and pelmet in Charles Parson's farbic, the most common window furnishing used in bedrooms. Adding a soft grey pelmet to the window creates a neat finish to a functional product.
It's always a pleasure working with Metricon's amazing design team to create these beautiful display spaces together!
