Lifting Expectations • Ange Tracey in Focus
“Completing a project on time with little to no hiccups gives a great sense of accomplishment. It’s the best part of my job and gives me the same satisfaction as achieving a personal best in the gym.” - Angela Tracey
This month we thought we would take you on a trip to our Lovelight office in sunny Queensland. We spoke with Angela Tracey, Lovelight's QLD Operations Manager, about how she runs things in the Sunshine State — balancing a busy work life with family as well as her bodybuilding ambitions.
Angela was brought in to run operations for us because she is the epitome of versatility and precision which is what’s needed to handle the multifaceted world of window furnishings. Angela brought a unique perspective and skill set to the Lovelight team when she transitioned from an extensive 6-year tenure in the plumbing industry. In her previous role, she excelled in estimating and project coordination for commercial projects which is exactly what she continues to do as part of her role with us. Ange is also a competitive bodybuilder which explains a lot about her drive, ambition and strength of character.
Angela told us that her “day at Lovelight is as dynamic as it is challenging, after waking up at 4.30 to train every day I arrive at the office pumped up and ready to hit the ground running. I have to be able to pivot when necessary and seamlessly transition from estimating large commercial projects to advising on quaint custom jobs.” On any given day, Angela could be found deep in consultation in the showroom, liaising with suppliers, or orchestrating with installers to ensure flawless execution of projects. This variety, she finds, keeps her role exciting and rewarding, as “no two days at Lovelight are ever the same.”
Among the myriad of projects Angela has contributed to, it's not the size or the prestige that defines her favourites but the diversity and unique challenges each one presents. One of the most challenging endeavours Angela faced was the Cabana Residences project at Palm Beach. The settlement period coinciding with the Christmas holidays brought its own unique set of challenges, primarily managing customer expectations and installer availability during one of the busiest seasons of the year. Her ability to navigate these challenges and strive to complete as much work as possible before residents moved in is a testament to her commitment and organizational skills. She told us that the whole team celebrated not only the end of year but the successful conclusion of that particular project.
For Angela, the pinnacle of her day is witnessing a project come together seamlessly, on time, and with minimal issues. The satisfaction derived from this sense of accomplishment underscores her commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction - “It’s the best part of my job and gives me the same satisfaction as achieving a personal best in the gym.”
In every aspect of her life, Angela lifts well above expectations. Her role at Lovelight goes beyond mere management; it’s about weaving together the threads of different departments and projects to create a tapestry of success and customer satisfaction.
Her story is a reminder of the importance of versatility, adaptability, and perseverance in the ever-evolving world of design and window furnishings, proving that a well-managed operation is the strong core of any successful project.
