EQ Tower

Some projects take on a special significance for a business throughout their history and EQ Tower is certainly one of those milestone projects for Lovelight. EQ Towers marks the first large high-rise residential development we completed and it’s where the business learned a lot of lessons and began a journey for us to build new systems and processes that have been a significant contributing factor to the subsequent success of the business.

It comes as no surprise that when you combine the powers of multiple parties striving for the same goal you can get synergistic results which are celebrated by everyone. In property development some of these outcomes can be astonishing and it makes us very proud to see the EQ Tower project winning a number of high profile awards.

The masterpiece high-rise tower was last year honoured as the best in the Residential High Rise Architecture Award category of the Asia Pacific Property Awards. The recognition comes from 70 industry experts who judge entrance on excellence in the areas of design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability and is one of the most well regarded honours in the region. Not to be outdone the EQ Tower project was also recognised for the Residential High Rise Development and Residential High Rise Architecture awards in Australia.

Experts loved the parametric design the architects Elenberg Fraser used to created the curtain wall glass facade which took into consideration the weather patterns, sunlight, views and apartment usage to ensure the maximum delivery of natural light to all living and bedroom spaces.

This in turn influenced the selection of the window furnishings that bring another dimension to the apartments and match the quality and level of excellence throughout the building. In this case due to the unique colour of the facade a custom colour for the backing to the window furnishings were created to exaggerate and be sympathetic to the colour of the glass and internal paint colours. There were also interesting design challenges like the creation of double height floor to ceiling curtains for the amenity area.

All of these choices were considered whilst being sensitive to the green credentials of the property which already features the latest in ecologically sustainable features like solar panels, rainwater harvesting and re-use water efficient fixtures and appliances as well high performance double glazing.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that given the ambitiousness of the project that timelines could easily be delayed but instead due to the synergies with the builder the project manager Sinclair Brook and builder Multiplex the entire project was delivered a full 5 months ahead of schedule. An outstanding achievement in anyone’s books! It takes good partners to be able to adjust and be flexible to shifting timeframes and being able to deliver and being able to work with the developers to ensure the efficient and timely installation of window furnshings was a pleasure.

No doubt this commitment to excellence and sustainable development had an impact on sales as 80% of apartments were sold in less than two months with the remainder of the 633 apartments sold in 240 days. A rewarding result for the developers ICD Property and Sino-Ocean Land.
