Feature project: The Hawksburn
In mid-2015 Lovelight had the pleasure of working on one of The Hawksburn's most iconic new developments. Constructed by Crema Constructions and designed by pre-eminent local architects, Rothe Lowman, The Hawksburn development in Prahran consists of 112 boutique apartments and 2 sprawling whole level 400sq/meter penthouses. It features 5 residential levels as well as common areas featuring green walls and a tranquil central courtyard, and of course our beautiful blinds.
The brief called for window furnishings that would marry with an interior aesthetic of open plan minimalist style including oak timber flooring, stone bench tops, contemporary quality fixtures and fittings and natural lighting. Lovelight offered single and dual roller blinds in sheer and Blockout fabrics for all spaces including lounge, bedroom and hallway spaces, satisfying both aesthetic and functional elements of the brief. The unique appeal of the material sourced by Lovelight afforded the tenants the ability to have a neutral internal white coloured blind with a contrasting external-facing reverse side in a charcoal colour. This helped achieve a stunning façade to the entire building allowing the windows to remain a dark contrasting colour to the stark white render and architectural detail of the exterior.
The two penthouse levels, interiors and design by David Hicks, took it up another notch featuring motorised blockout and sheer curtains to all windows enhancing and softening each space whilst beautifully framing the uninterrupted city views.
