Splash of Colour

It’s always nice to get recognition for the work you do and we were thrilled when one of our projects with Hecker Guthrie was recently featured in Belle Magazine Australia. Situated in the leafy suburb of Toorak, this project celebrates its Art Deco origins and was originally designed by Marcus Martin in 1938.

Our General Manager, Jeremy Gomo was tasked with finding window furnishing solutions and he remembers the project well, ‘it’s always refreshing when a client gives the designers the freedom to express themselves’ and in this case that was showcased in the use of colour which paid ‘homage to the era with iconic bold geometric patterns and intricate detailing with subtle cured forms and polished surfaces’.

Bespoke colours and fabrics were selected for the manual blockout curtains in the kitchen and bedrooms whilst and timber plantation shutters were used for the bathrooms and rumpus room. Each furnishing fulfilled a distinct role in each room, whether that was to capture your attention; such as the sensational velvet curtains from Marlow, to the more subdued textured look in the kitchen with De La Cuona Barbarian fabrics in the Root colour.

Complementing the striking tiling work and brilliant stone finishings in the bathrooms stands the classic Timber Plantation Shutters which offer the twin benefits of light and privacy control. Needless to say that photos really do tell a thousand words with each window furnishing offering different performance characteristics and aesthetic qualities that allow the rest of the interior design to stand out.

If you’re looking to add some character and leverage of the experts in custom window furnishings to create magazine worthy designs, look no further. Lovelight can help you with that.
